Earth Day Service:
“Thinking of the Next Seven Generations”

Guest Speaker:  Allan Jamieson, Sr., Native American Elder Earth Day Service at Unity of Buffalo with Allan Jamieson

Allan is an elder of the Cayuga Nation, Wolf Clan, one of the Six Nations of the Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) Confederacy.  He is the Director and one of the founding members of Neto Hatinakwe Onkwehowe which means, “Here Lives the People” where he is responsible for coordinating art exhibits and programs.  As a graduate student at UB, he developed and taught a course on Native American literature.  His experience includes extensive research on the WNY area and oral history related to this area, as well as having developed language assessment resources for the six Haudenosaunee (Iroquois) languages in New York State.  For the past 20 years, Allan has been an active member of the Native Community in the WNY region, assisting area art institutions with Native American programming.
