Special Events, including Tibetan Monks

"The Mystical Arts of Tibet"
Lama Chopa sacred ceremony shared by
Tibetan Monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery
Thursday, July 2 at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets: $20, available online and at church

We are honored and blessed to once again host Tibetan Monks from Drepung Loseling Monastery at Unity in Buffalo. The monks will share the Lama Chopa ceremony with us.

Lama Chopa is perhaps the most popular practice in Tibetan Tantric world. It is traditionally performed on auspicious occasions for invoking the blessings of the enlightened masters for individual, communal, and environment healing. The ceremony involves chants, traditional musical instruments, and various offerings of light food and flowers. This practice was composed by the First Panchen Lama, Lobsang Chokyi Gyaltsen. The First Panchen Lama was the guru of the Fifth Dalai Lama, and perhaps the singularly most popular figure in seventeenth century Tibet. Today it is perhaps even more popular than ever, serving as something of a symbol of the endangered Tibetan civilization.

You may purchase tickets online via our website. Just click on the "Buy Now" graphic below to get started. It's fast and secure, through our PayPal shopping cart. (Note: A PayPal account is not required in order for you to buy tickets in this way.) Tickets are also available at our church.

Online ticket purchases may be made until 5:00 p.m. Thursday, July 2.

Unity Gallery Art Exhibit:
Art work by Berny Kaple
on view now through the end of June

Class: The I of the Storm
Wednesdays, 7:00 - 9:00 p.m.
(no classes on June 10 and 17)

One of the most popular classes offered in recent years at Unity Church, this class is based on Rev. Gary Simmons' book of the same title. The I of the Storm is about how to find peace in the midst of conflict. This eight-week class runs through the end of June. Newcomers are always welcome to join in. Books are $14 and can be ordered and purchased through our church office.

Description of the book, from unityonline.org: "Gary Simmons goes beyond conflict management -- beyond conflict resolution to conflict transformation. Simmons shows how to experience conflict from your center instead of from the outside world where all is seeming chaos. Just as those at the 'eye' of a storm experience calm, the 'I' of your storm of conflict is where you experience your wholeness and spiritual essence. You can learn to transform fear into fearlessness...resistance into nonresistance. This book is ideal for anyone struggling with relationship discord or personal challenges and, in general, for everyone who feels uncomfortable with conflict."
