A Celebration of Peace

Friday, September 21 from 6 - 9 p.m.

Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on September 21. The General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, both within and among all nations and peoples. 

The theme for this year’s International Day of Peace is

“The Right to Peace - The Universal Declaration of Human Rights at 70”


The theme celebrates the 70th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.

Our Unity Welcoming Team is hosting this event, partnering with the WNY Peace Center, which will include music, food and fellowship in honor of world peace. This is a FREE event and all are welcome to attend!

Some highlights include:

The WNY Resistance Revival Chorus
Nan Hoffman - Folk singer and musician, with guests Joe Tumino and Kathy DeLoughry
Labyrinth walk in our Unity Peace Park
Soup n’ Salad - potluck of soups, salads and desserts
Closing candlelight ceremony with a sing-along of “Imagine”

6:30 - 7:00 PM - Labyrinth Walk

7:00 - 7:45 PM - Soup n' Salad (potluck of soups, salads and desserts)

7:45 - 8:30 PM - Nan Hoffman Acoustic Performer, with guests Joe Tumino and Kathy DeLoughry (visit Nan's website by clicking here)

8:30 - 9:00 PM - Closing with candlelight and the song "Imagine", honoring world peace
