Dr. Tom DeLoughry: Guest Speaker & Workshop Announcement

Love is Just a Thought Away

Dr. Tom DeLoughry | August 22, 2021

On August 22nd, you will learn how to fuel forgiveness and find love by using the four Satisfaction Skills. Tom’s talk will be an introduction to a two-part online workshop Forgiving Yourself, Others and God, that he will offer on September 11th and 18th to mark the twentieth anniversary of the terror attack on the World Trade Center.
Dr. Tom DeLoughry directed drug abuse and adolescent services in Child Psychiatry at Buffalo Children’s Hospital, and directed Wellness and Disease Management for Independent Health, a large managed care organization. He served as a clinical Assistant Professor of Public Health and a research Assistant Professor of Family Medicine at the State University of New York at Buffalo, where he earned his doctorate in health education and behavior.
After his mother got sick, he realized that what he knew about disease management paled in comparison to the spiritual medicine she needed. So, he took a three-year sabbatical to direct the Franciscan Center of Renewal at Stella Niagara, where he was encouraged to create a new program that could “integrate spirituality into health care without stepping on anyone’s theological toes or offending those who dismissed the Spirit.”
The resulting books (see below) and programs were honored by AARP’S Social Impact Award, as a “simple mind-body-Spirit program for seniors, adults and teens of any faith, or no faith.” He is currently completing The Friendship Trilogy, three related novels about how music and mindfulness can stop fear and help us find love.
