A positive path for spiritual living

Unity of Buffalo Choir

All are welcome to join the Unity of Buffalo choir. Whether you have little experience with music or all of the experience in the world, you can join!

Rehearsals are Wednesday evenings starting at 5:45 p.m. in our sanctuary at 1243 Delaware Avenue. The songs we sing are fun, uplifting and often go with the theme of Sunday's lesson.

Please call the office for more details or questions about joining the Unity of Buffalo choir.

About our Music Director- Mike Serio:

Michael Serio, a Buffalo native, began performing solo piano concerts as a teenager and was awarded the Rochester Prize scholarship to study as a piano performance major at the Eastman School of Music and computer science major at the University of Rochester. Mike chose software development as his vocation. Music has remained his passion and has become a primary expression of his spiritual practice.

Mike lived in Boston, MA for many years and was an active soloist and chamber musician including performances at the Boston Conservatory and guest artist at the Williams College adult summer piano retreat. As a member of the BPAA of Boston, Mike provided pre-concert music to patrons of the Boston Symphony. He competed in several amateur piano competitions and was a multi-prize winner in the 7th Washington International Piano Competition.

While in Boston, Mike had the good fortune to study the Alexander Technique with Debi Adams. These studies led Mike to train as an Alexander Technique teacher, receiving ATI certification through Tommy Thompson's program in Cambridge, MA. Mike and Debi regularly perform four-hand music as The Well Tempered Pianists duo. To learn more, please visit TheWellTemperedPianiist.com

Mike returned to Buffalo in April 2015 and hopes to continue performing regularly and to share his knowledge of the Alexander Technique with area musicians. Mike is grateful for the opportunity to serve and share all that is sacred in music with the Unity Church community.
