Youth and Family Ministry

YFM at Unity of BuffaloUnity of Buffalo is pleased to announce that we will soon be Welcoming Families

Postponed due to Coronavirus. We will post updates as soon as the crisis is over.

As we are creating and building our NEW Youth and Family Ministry vision and program here at Unity of Buffalo, we'd like families to know that we are a multigenerational ministry that welcomes children of all ages.

Our Youth Education program will start every Sunday at 10 a.m.  Each week the children will be given the opportunity to explore the teachings of Unity through stories, games, art and more.  The children are encouraged to share their ideas and beliefs openly and to find the truth within themselves.

Children may participate in our youth program or stay upstairs with their parents during the adult service.  Upstairs there is a space adjacent to the sanctuary that is separate, but equipped with a speaker and a window so the sermon can be heard and seen. This space is also equipped with a basket of toys and even a pack and play where small children play and enjoy themselves during the service.

Unity’s Approach to Childrenbased upon the words of our co-founder

Unity of Buffalo Youth Education

Our mission is not to entertain the children but to call them out.  To be always entertained is to be dwarfed and dependent.  To be ‘called out’ is to follow the harmonious law of the soul’s unfoldment.

“Who meddles with the rosebud?  What fingers are deft enough to pry open that marvel of folded beauty?  We are wise enough to leave it alone to follow the glad law of its own unfolding.

“But our children!  Have we dealt as wisely with these buds of marvelous possibility?  Have we always remembered that they, too, must quicken and unfold through the innate law of their own genius?”
